mdledit.exe Version 1-1a for Combat Flight Simulator 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
History:
~~~~~~~
Version 1-1a	- July, 2002 - Stock and AI aircraft
Version 1	- July, 2002 - Stock aircraft

Description:
~~~~~~~~~~~
Inflight collisions will be reduced, if not eliminated.
There is now no need to amend collision settings in cfs2.cfg from the default of 2 if flying the aircraft modified by mdledit.
mdledit edits the collision bubble of the model (mdl) files of the listed CFS2 aircraft, allowing them to get closer before colliding.  You can choose the size of the bubble.
Notes:
~~~~~
1.
Some testers reported that in offline Quick Combat and Missions, labels (distance and name display) disappear and reappear at varying distances - this may be unrelated.
2.
This modification may show your plane as a "cheat plane" to other players who have not made the adjustment. It has been suggested that all players need to have the same mdl settings for a fair game. The RAAF does not hold this view - even if all players haven't made the change, they will still benefit from less collisions by those who have. The only intent of this modification is to make for a more enjoyable game with fewer collisions.
3.
This modification stops some inflight outside views on some systems if the collision bubble is set to a number below 3.
4.
When changed with mdledit, your plane will appear larger in the Select Player Aircraft screen.

Prior to install:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Backup your current aircraft mdl files
Install:
~~~~~~~
Save mdledit.exe to any convenient location

Running mdledit:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.
When the program is first executed, point it to your aircraft directory - usually "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2\aircraft\".
2.
Set the collision bubble to the desired number, using the following as a guide:
The larger the plane, the larger should be the collision bubble.  The original setting for the B-24 is 16 and the A6M2 Zero is 7.
 1 or 2 = smallest collision bubble - stops some inflight outside views on some systems
 3	= the setting I chose for all aircraft, regardless of size ;-)
 5	= can pass within 9 feet of other aircraft
16	= largest collision bubble set by this program
Requires
Microsoft's Visual Basic 6.0 SP4 Run-Time - get it from ==> http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-AU;q235420
