Here you can see the trouble. All the damag however is fairly well confined to the body where the spring is mounted.
Here is a shot of the trunk from the rear of the car. You can faintly see the outline of the frame at the sides of the floor pan. This is where plates are over lapped and connected together at the frame.

On top of each wheel well can be seen the strut mounting bolt. Then note the oval shaped ring around each bolt. This appears to be a seperately fashioned plate or mount point for the spring and strut, which was attached to the body after it was installed on the frame.

This is a shot of the passenger side from the exterior. Here you can clearly see the outline of the mount point and how the spring is attached to it
Passenger side from the exterior. Note the rust line around the area. This is the 'mount'.
Note the seat mount is attached across the wheel well.

I suspect this is a large part of whatever strength is left.
