The Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain was formed in 1979 for all Mustang enthusiasts, wether you own one or not. The questions below are just some of the regular ones that I get as Webmaster, Paul Gold gets as Editor and Mike Bailey gets as Membership Secretary. If you have a question that is not mentioned here, then please email me and I will try to address it, or forward to the appropriate person.

Regards Mark.

How do I join the Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain ?

Goto the Club Data section and click on the Join link, you can complete the Form On-Line, but you will need to post it to us with a Cheque drawn on a UK Bank, or Sterling Money Order.

What do I get for my Money

The club produces a bi-monthly magazine called Round UP, so expect 6 issues during the year, you will get a car sticker and access to Area Secretaries. There are also discounts available to members, these include Car Insurance, Custom Exhaust and Spares.

I would like to Rent/Hire a Mustang

This is a very common request, and one that you have almost no chance of achieving. I do not know anyone who would hand over their keys of their treasured Mustang to a complete stranger ! However, we can arrange rides in old and new Mustangs. If this is for a special birthday or occassion, please give us as much notice as possible

How do I Import a Mustang ?

This is not as complex as it sounds, goto my own web page for more details. Home of UK Cobra

What do I have to do to convert my lights ?

You will need to ensure you have Amber turn signals for any car sold after September 1st 1965. (I know the law on this one!!) You will see cars on the road with Red turn signals. There is even a 94 in my area! You will need to ensure you have a Fog light for cars produced after Jan 1973 . Headlamps will need to be dipped to the left. For late model lighting options check out my web page on the subject Home of UK Cobra .

Where Can I Insure my Stang ?

There are plenty of places that will Insure New and Old Mustangs at a price that you will be please with (compared to US Rates!), goto my own web page for more details. Home of UK Cobra

Where Can I Service my Stang ?

I do not know all the firms able to service Mustangs. Needless to say, Mustangs are serviced here but NOT by Ford Dealers. The best thing to do is Service the Mustang before it leaves the US, join the club, call the local area secretary and find out who other local members would recommend.

Where Can I cruise in my Stang ?

There are regular cruises around the country, these are listed in the club magazine, Round Up.

I want to Buy/Sell a Mustang in the UK ?

You can place a Wanted or For Sale ad in Round Up, Free to members and 5 Uk pounds to everyone else. If you want to search on line try Uk Auto Trader or Exchange and Mart . Both have pretty good search engines. Auto Trader and its sister publication Top Marques carry photos on the web, Exchange and Mart does not.

Are Mustangs made in Right Hand Drive ?

Late model Mustangs are NOT currently made in RHD, there are a few older Mustangs in RHD, these I believe have been converted at some stage in their life (Unless anyone has evidence otherwise!)

What MPG do Mustangs get ?

It depends how heavy footed you are and how well tuned (or not) the car is. Classic V8 Mustangs anywhere from 8 in town to 20 on a run, newer V8s from 17 in town to 30 on a run. These are based on UK sized gallons. The sixes may be better may be worse. The V6 I have been driving for a while here in the US, gives no better mileage than my Cobra in the UK. Probably due to the California Emisions kit and MTBE in the GAS.

I have a question thats not here !

The email me ! Link at the bottom of the page.
