Time To Face The Day Rise and shine, sleepy head. Where have you been? The day is past, the light is gone, and now the darkness comes. How clever you are you sneaky thief, stealing away your glimpse of time -- taking it away with you to dreamland. So you've found your place, you've found your peace, your slice, your little sliver of life away. Rise and shine, sleepy head. I know where you've been: the place I think I'd like to be during all my days, the dull meantime days while you're pining away. I'm living in the light of day so the darkest nights I can keep at bay. And what I see, I see with certainty, though it's mostly a brutal reality it's truth. It's truth. No! No! Wake up! You're not sleeping this day away. How dare you leave me here alone, lonely and angry while I face my fears with eyes of tears away? Open your eyes Unclose your mind. Let your heart out into the sun and face the day with me. I can hold your hand and you can hold my heart and with our masks off our faces will tell all, all the truth we've both been hiding. So come out, come out, wherever you are -- wherever I've lost me -- in the nights of altered reality. No more sleeping. No more hiding now. Today's the day we face each other. Today's the day we face the truth. Posted 1/9/02 |
