Recruitment Ideas

I would like to establish a large collection of successful programs that clubs can use as a resource. If your club has done any kind of successful program (recruitment, fundraising, social, service, etc), please email us so we can share it with other clubs in our district and internationally.

Washington University's Ice Cream Scavenger Hunt
For the past 2 years, WashU has kicked off the year with a scavenger hunt. For our first meeting, we divide the new members into teams of about 10 each while old members station themselves at various dorms on campus. The board introduces themselves, then explains the hunt. Each clue is a fact about Circle K but it also contains the name of a dorm. For example:

Kicking Off this year, we held a tEddy bear drive and we are going to briNg the bears to a children's hospItal in a few weeks. we are also participating in a walkathon for diabetes, an international effort for children's literacy, trick or treat for unicef, and numerous other service projects. watch your email or sign up at weekly meetings to Get involved!
(answer: Koenig)

At each dorm, the teams get a new clue and an ingredient for ice cream sundaes (whipped cream, chocolate syrup, etc.). Last year we had 6 clues, with the 6th leading to a common location, but members felt it was too long, so we shortened it to 4 clues this year. The 4th clue led everyone to a common location where the returning members had set out ice cream. We wrap up our meeting by socializing, eating ice cream, and for the last 10 minutes we speak to the members about Circle K.
