For me drawing starts in the sketch book and all drawing beyond that in an extension or duplication.. The images are a diary of my viual thought process at a particular time. I like to use ink, acrylic paint or magic marker.

My drawing is a kind of attentive doodling. I try to limit myself to using a "cartoon-like"  simple black line. I try to get as much  mileage out of it as possible. I don't do any shading to depict volume, for example. Not that I have anything against shading but you have to draw the line somewhere.

I also limit myself in terms of what I draw. For examlpe, pig's heads are okay but dog's heads are not. I'm not sure why but it just doesn't seem right to draw a dog's head. In fact pigs are the only animals I draw and only their heads. All other imagery is either "abstracted" or banal everyday objects like cups or house plants.

My drawings are not sketches for future paintings. Drawing and painting exist outside each other as seperate things on equal footing. They are strands that may or may not be tied up one day.
