First National Bank of Temple is growing again with its introduction of Extraco
Banks. And with its acquisition of First Waco National Bank, Lorena State Bank
and Bank of Troy, it will become the largest independent bank between San
Antonio and Dallas, with its headquarters to remain at 18 S. Main in Temple. By
the end of June, customers will have access to 14 banking locations across
Central Texas and unmatched community bank resources such as a combined legal
lending limit of $8 million, Internet banking and access to trust, brokerage
and mortgage services. However, what is special about First National Bank of
Temple and Extraco Banks is our hometown approach, and family business
principles which have continued for three generations. Our roots date back to
1882 when the Downs Brothers opened the first bank in Temple. The name
"Extraco" was derived from Exporters & Traders Compress &
Warehouse Company, who became part of the bank's history in 1970. First
National Bank of Temple may have gotten bigger, but we are still the same bank
where you can depend on someone you know and trust.
