From The Begining

The wannabe muscle cars of the 60's! For years I called corvairs "The ugliest car that chevy ever made"! Then my best friend met Charlie Clark's daughter. Most corvair nuts know who Charlie Clark is. Dan was swept into the world of corvairs. I still held my position though! After all we lived 1200 miles from each other, I didn't even have to look at the darn things. Then in July of 1998 Dan and Juli moved from West Palm Beach Fl. to Kansas City Ks. Passing through St.Louis he stayed the night at my house. Pulled behind his moving truck was a 65 Monza with late 80's Monte Carlo rallys. I drove it that night when we went out! After driving it I changed my position to "OK they aren't that bad". They moved on and things went on as usual. THEN! In November of '98 Dan had to come home for a family funeral. He drove down a 63 monza drop top with a (not factory) 140 4 speed. He left the car at my house while he went to Ky. to spend Thanksgiving. I of course drove the car, blowing the tranny up! When he got back he called K.C. and got an emergency list of names and numbers. After calling a couple we realized by the time we called people they already knew the story! Everyone tried to help! Finally we found one about an hour away in Southern Illinois. Bill Pierson told us he wouldnt be home but we could come get it he would leave it under his carport, asking only that it be returned after they made it home safe. Keep in mind that Bill had never met us and didn't know us from Adam.
I was hooked, so on April 17 I am boarding an Amtrak for K.C. and buying for $500 the first corvair I ever drove the 65 Monza! I will post pics of it as soon as I get it!
I would like to thank any and all corvair owners and lovers who have kept all of these cars on the road in spite of people with attitudes such as the one that I had

By the way I did buy the car!
Man does it need work. All body
work,the motor(which we put in)
is very sound! I drove the car from
K.C. to St.Louis without a problem

The car has since made trips to Evansville In. and another trip to K.C. from St.Louis The K.C. trip we had a minor tranny problem (which is still a problem)
At the present time the car is sitting with a carb problem, 1-16-00
