I would like to take this opportunity to welcome ll_jus_ll and Missteach to the Admin Team. I would also like to welcome Steve2327 back! To keep this league strong, we need admin available to help new players 24/7 whenever possible. Hopefully by increasing the admin team, we will be successful in doing that :-)
Things are going pretty good in Social 2. Yes, it is VERY slow during the day but at night we are rocking the room! :-) We are still fighting the vicious circle during the day of no players therefore no TDs therefore no players. Maybe things will improve in the spring and summer. Let us hope so! If you can spend anytime with us during the day either as a player or as a TD, that would be great :-)
We have been made to feel welcome by most of the social 2 regulars and it is nice to have new people to banter and tease with. Make everyone feel warm and welcome and we will continue to show ourselves as a classy fun group of online gamers and hopefully others will join us.
I really like our league. I look around at others and yes, some of them are bigger now. But we have something here-something I don’t ever want to lose. I think we have a great sense of humour in all we do. That is so important in this day and age. We have a GREAT main page (thank you Linnie), we have GREAT rules on our tournaments (Thank you Ziasmum), we have GREAT tournaments (Thank you TDs), we have GREAT regular players (Thank you everyone!)…everything we do is professional yet fun!
In a nutshell, we may be the oldest Myleague in Euchre, but we are also the best :-)

Player in the Spotlight this month is helmethugger69. Helmet is a
mystery person – very few persons on the Mountain know his
real
name, so I am not going to divulge it.
Helmet is one of our very popular super-hosters and a friend to us all.
Helmet
was born in Charleston, WC and presently lives in McConnelsville, OH.
He joined Mountain Euchre in 2001 and his favourite partner is anyone who tolerates a drunk otter!
Helmet considers anyone on mountain as his friend, although he hasn’t had the privilege to meet them in person. He would like to put together a live tournament in his area or home this summer/fall.
Helmet’s job is Home Health Care for his Grandmother. She had a stroke last year and is still paralyzed on her left side. For years he has worked in restaurants and was most recently a Service Manager for Red Lobster.
Helmet has no children – he tries to spend as much time as possible with his Mother and Grandmother. He says they are a bunch of hillbillies. They have been in this county for 40 years and they love the slower pace of life, although it drives him nuts. His family will try to feed you as soon as you walk in the house, and don’t forget to bring your change cos they love to play poker.
Helmet says if you ever meet him, the first thing you’ll notice is the scar on his forehead. When he was five years old his parents were having a picnic by the river – cooking out and water skiing. There was an older man that was mowing an area for the kids to play so they would leave the adults alone. Helmet was watching him mow when suddenly something flew out of the mover and struck him in the head. He had multiple rounds of brain surgery. They removed pieces of rock, gunshell, glass, and of course skull.
Helmet has two cats named Tuxedo and BigBoy. They look like twins, though Tuxedo has weight problems.
He recently got a puppy named Miloh. He looks just like Scooby Doo – he has been told that Miloh is a mastiff mix. He is a licking machine.

Linnie's Recipe
Ham Casserole
Get rid of that Easter Ham!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c Ham cubed
2 c Cooked macaroni (I like wavy egg noodles)
1 c Grated Cheddar cheese
2 T Butter
1/2 c Milk
2 T Chopped onions
1 can Cream of mushroom soup (or Cream of Celery)
Instructions for Ham Casserole
Cook ham and onions in butter. Add soup, milk and cheese; cook until cheese melts. Add remaining ingredients. Bake in greased 2-quart casserole at 350F for 30 minutes.

This months movie review is not all brand new movies. Going to the theater is expensive nowadays. And this being my first review of the year, I will go over a few of the better movies I've seen recently.
I have always been a huge Daniel Craig fan, and his role in Definace was probably his best yet. Liev Schreiber was also fantastic. This is a story of Jewish brothers who escape Nazi controlled Europe into the forests. As more and more Jews pour into their camp, the brothers make drastic choices, all while being hunted by the Nazis. This was a great war genre movie, and I'd put it up there with Saving Private Ryan. And the best part?? It's based on a true story!! Go watch it! 9.5/10
Slumdog Millionaire
was pretty good. Basically, it shows the older main character playing India's version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and after every question, the movie goes back in time and shows how he knows the answer to each question. Very nicely written, but it has its disgusting parts! Won a lot of awards for a reason. 9/10
The most recent movie I've seen was Still Waiting. This is the sequel to the 2005 movie, Waiting, which was absolutely hilarious! Both movies have the same idea: one day at the fictional restaurant, Shenaniganz. There are several returning characters to the second movie including Justin Long, Luis Guzman, and David Koechner. It was great to see where all the different stories take off for the sequel. Still Waiting definitely did not disappoint. If you haven't seen Waiting, it's worth a watch and a load of laughs. Then stick around for Still Waiting, the equally raucous comedy. 8.5/10
