    The 2001 State FFA Trapshoot was held Sept.22nd, 2001 at the Redwood River Sportsmans Club near Marshall Minnesota. Twenty-three teams competed in the state shoot. It was a beautiful September day with scattered showers.

    The top teams were as follows ----

  • 1. Stewartville FFA with a score of 180/200
  • 2. Marshall FFA with a score of 159/200
  • 3. Mountain Lake FFA with a score of 157/200
  • 4. New London-Spicer FFA with a score of 155/200
  • 5. Murray County Central FFA with a score of 148/200
  • 6. Windom FFA with a score of 141/200
  • 7. Westbrook-Walnut Grove FFA with a score of 139/200
  • 8. Watertown-Mayer FFA with a score of 136/200

  • Stewartville sets a new state record with their team score, beating the 4 year old record held by Murray County Central.

    A total of 103 individuals participated in the shoot. The top twenty competitors received an All State Shooter medallion.

  • 1. Watertown-Mayer FFA with a score of 169/200
  • 2. Mountain Lake FFA with a score of 162/200
  • 3. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop FFA with a score of 157/200
  • 4. Westbrook-Walnut Grove FFA with a score of 146/200
  • 5. Marshall FFA with a score of 140/200
  • 6. Tracy FFA with a score of 139/200
  • 7. Windom FFA with a score of 131/200
  • 8. Pipestone-Jasper FFA with a score of 117/200

  • The state team record is 172/200 set by Murray County Central FFA in 1997.

  • This is the third consecutive year Watertown-Mayer has won the State FFA Trapshoot!

    A total of 138 individuals participated in the shoot. The top twenty competitors received an All State Shooter medallion.

It was a beautiful partly-cloudy September day with a temperature in the low 70's. The contest began at 8:45 a.m. and finished about 4:30 p.m.
