for now...
Notes by Michael Neal Morris. A journal about...

Yesterday, I started drafting an essay about the deaths of my father and step-father. Watching Craig Ferguson's show about his father reminded me of some things I wanted to write about. Didn't get back to it today because my son got to the computer first, and just as I was setting up to work upstairs, my father in law came over to fix the garage door.

Yesterday, I got two rejections from places I sent poems. Sent some more poems out. Also got a rejection for an old story that contained some notes by some of the readers. I think this were good, helpful notes, and I appreciate them very much. Was also a bit ashamed that I let a manuscript go out (though it is a bit old) that had some typing/writing errors which made a couple sentence difficult to read. Oh well, there is a bit of a taste of what I do to my students.

Today, while moving some stuff in my garage, I found a copy of a short story I wrote before and published during graduate school called "Ginny." I am typing it and I think I'll send it somewhere after I look at it a bit. Its original publication was the school's literary magazine, so I think I could place it somewhere. Here's hoping and praying. Image
