I was searching the web and I found your website about why it's not a good idea for Jews to get tattoos. I understand the whole religious factor, but let me tell you a thing or two.

I happen to be Jewish, and I have had a tattoo for quite sometime now. It was a personal choice which I happen to say I do not regret in the least. If you are very orthodox, then it is not a good idea to get tattooed, HOWEVER, it is the personal choice of the person to do as they please... we live in a democratic society, not a dictatorship, and people will always do what they want to do.

Thank you for writing.

I am not advocating that the government of any country should outlaw tattoos! The purpose of the website is to publicize the fact that tattoos are prohibited by our Torah (for Jews), and in my humble opinion, are simply not a good idea. This is my view, and it is my democratic right to present it. We all have free choice, but the Torah implores us to "choose life"(Deuteronomy 30:19). In the end, we'll all have to make a reckoning with our Maker(Chapters of the Fathers 3:1, 4:29).
