I agree that Jews should not be tattooed. However, We make temporary tattoos that are painted on and last 2-5 days. Several rabbis in the past complemented us because we are a great alternative to the real thing. Check out our web site www.temptu.com and let us know what you think.

Dear M., Thanks for the email. I am not a rabbi, so I asked a rabbi about the temporary tattoos according to what was on your website. That is to say, that no scratching or piercing of the skin is involved, and that the pigments wear off after 2 to 5 days. He said that it sounded ok, but if the pigments were to last for a week or more there are certain halachic authorities that would object to it. In any case, I recommend that you stay in touch with your local orthodox rabbi and act according to his rulings.
