Mr. Lerner:
I have heard dissenting views that tattoos might be permissible for a woman,
just as ear piercing is permissible for women and not men, because they fall
under the category of "the garment of a female." Is there any halakhic
validity to this assertion? Please post a discussion of this matter in your
website, if it would not trouble you greatly.
Thank you for your time.
Hello and thanks for your input!
I am not aware of any sources that permit tattoos for women. If
you know of any, please let me know. Piercing is an entirely different
subject. Earings are halachically permitted for men, as can be
seen in the link: http://www.ohr.org.il/ask/ask056.htm .
All the best.
