Race day Number 2 |

The front end was in great shape for the amount of hitting it did.the bumper came up perfectly and really protected everything.Only the very front of the passenger side fender needed to be pulled out a little.I did this by chaining it to a tree and backing away in idle a few times. The chains were tightened a few links each and the sides of the bumper rubber had to be cut off because they had broken free.It really had a tough battering ram for a front end |

The plastic Bumper cover came completely off leaving me with just the metal.next to the car you can see the plastic that had been between the cover and the metal. The chains now ran thru the metal and not just the brackets |

The sides held pretty well.On the passenger side you can see the metal folding itself around the impact beam in the door.I did get a front flat on the passenger side the first night but no one could manage to flatten my donuts. |

The Car was actually a lot muddier but I took the hose to it to get good pics(it only took 2 minutes)The second night I did a lot better at driving smarter.I picked my shots and saved the long speed shots for tires and radiators.I came down to 4th when I swerved to hit a colt vista van that was trying to get away from a half track shot.I nailed him hard but as I swerved my driverside fron tire hit a chevvete bumper in the sidewall. The vista tapped me and moved about 10 feet away and died in a cloud of steam.I tried to get back to him to make contact but the mud was deep and the car was bottomed with two front flats. The tires broke off the beads and the rims just spun in the tires. My engine never died but I couldn't make contact with the vista to take 3rd.So I finished 1 out of the money and had the time of my life. There's always next year.To see the final damage pics click HERE |
