THE VIDEO
ZONE OFFICES

Over the years, you've
seen the finished product in your mailbox: Video Zone,
that slick Xeroxed wonder. But haven't you ever wondered
how an issue is made? Well, I won't lie to you:
the production of Video Zone involves a lot of alcohol.
And sex. So we won't talk about that, because we
really can't remember most of it. Of course, during one
of our more inebriated days, we all decided to produce a
pictorial special: A Day At The VZ Offices. Now
you can see and read about what goes on here during a typical
day. Not that you would actually want to. |

Many of you have asked
us, "Is Video Zone produced in a giant glass skyscraper in New
York City?" The answer is, yes! We just
painted it to look like a rickety old gray house in scenic (if
you count the dairy farms) Northford, Conneticut! And
who's that handsome young man, who is not nearly that
fat, opening the door? Why, it's editor Chris Kohler,
busy as always! Let's walk inside the VZ offices and see
what we find... |

Why, look who we've
found already hard at work in the main VZ production room!
It's our old friend Al Riccitelli, giving Chris' computer a
little "tune-up!" Thanks, Al! Hunched over next to Al,
and probably ready to vomit, is hack writer Matt DelGiudice,
who's checking out some of Chris' collections! Matt
asked Chris a while ago if he could "borrow" some of Chris'
CDs and games for research on his latest article! Well,
okay Matt! Just be sure not to leave the country like
you did last time, you little scamp! |

While "the boys" get
ready to hit the keyboards and crank out some copy, Chris has
got to make an important phone call to Edmore, Michigan, where
VZ's on-location reporter, Jess Ragan, is currently stationed!
Chris cheerfully reminds him to get his article in on
time, or it'll be fourty whacks with a wet noodle!

What's that over on
the left? Well, there's a new Neon Genesis Evangelion
game coming out for the Nintendo 64, and Chris wants to make
sure he's covered every inch of this hot new title. So he's
checking out some "fan-art" drawn of one of the series' female
characters! Hey, what's with that bottle of lotion,
Chris? Sunburn? |

Whoops! Seems
we've interrupted a more private moment down at the VZ
offices! Seems Matt didn't want to contribute an article
to the latest issue, and Chris was using his powers of
persuasion to convince Matt that he could write a great
article if he just used his HEAD! Ha ha! Looks
like even Matt was won over by Chris' sense of humor: he seems
all too happy to contribute now that Chris talked some sense
into him. Thanks a bunch, Matt!

But where's Al during
all this fun? He's in his private office, doing what he
loves best! That's right, he's writing! Al's
pretty happy to see us, isn't he? Everything coming out all
right in there, Al? Yep, we thought so! |

Aw... it's bedtime and
our editor is all tuckered out! That's okay, though...
he's got his best buddies to watch out for him! And as
the day comes to an end, we're all tired, but proud of
a productive day.
