| Survivor: Megan Feld Date of accident: April 26, 2003 Place: A county road near the town of Lincoln. Factors: Single car accident. Hit loose gravel. Lost control of car and rolled four times, was ejected from car. No seatbelt. Injuries: Traumatic brain injury, brain sheering, bruised spinal cord, broken neck, (C4, C5, C6, C7) right side paralaysis, paralyzed vocal cords, broken collar bone, broken knuckles and lacerations. Pre-Injury Interests: Horseback riding, swimming, skiing, singing, being a typical teenager. Goals & Dreams: Go to college to become a veterinarian. Get married. Raise a family. Description of me: I was an average 17 year old high school junior. Very independent, self motivated, and outgoing. Post- Injury Interests: Volunteer at St. Vincent hospital. Speak to area high schools for an injury prevention program. Hang with family and friends. Live my life. Goals & Dreams: Continue my education. Improve so well that nobody can tell I was in a car accident. Get married. Raise a family. Misses most: My singing voice. The ability to drive. My independence. Description of me now: Upbeat, positive individual. I am smarter about my life and the choices that I make, because I can�t afford to screw up again. |
