Friday 6/10/05
Our cab picked us up at 4:30 am for our flight out of Midway at 7:00 am. We took BART to downtown San Francisco and then a cable car to the Radisson in Fisherman's Wharf and checked in. We walked around and had lunch at Nick's Lighthouse - one of the many fish vendors on the pier. We took a ferry over to Alcatraz. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the views from the ferry. We listened in on the ranger's escape stories which was pretty intersting. Then we walked through the audio tour of the prison. We walked around Pier 39, saw the sea lions and had dinner at Chic's and were disappointed with the seafood. Then we walked around and headed in after a long day.
Saturday 6/11/05
We got up pretty early and enjoyed walking around on Fisherman's Wharf. We had breakfast at a local coffee shop. We walked down near Ghirardelli Square and watched as people were swimming in the bay. On the Alcatraz tour we learned that the water was 53 degrees and they were probably training for the triathlon where they swim from Alcatraz. We had some Ben and Jerry's ice cream and then Brenda, Jim and Patrick picked us up to go to Tiburon. We had lunch at Sam's Cafe right on the water with a great view. Then we drove to Muir Woods and stopped at Stinson Beach. We stopped at a look out point near the Golden Gate Bridge and saw some amazing views. We headed back to the hotel to rest before having dinner at Alioto's. It was much better than the night before. Again we walked around Fisherman's Wharf.
Sunday 6/12/05
We had breakfast at the same little coffee shop and then checked out of the hotel. We took the cable car to the Hilton in Union Square where we stayed for the remainder of our trip. We walked to SBC Park and enjoyed a Giants game. They got beat by Cleveland, but it was a beautiful day with spectacular views.
Monday 6/13/05
We walked around the city and then saw "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" at the Loews Theatre at the Sony Metreon. We had lunch at Daily Grill. That evening we attended a reception at the Rotunda of City Hall. The venue was gorgeous and we enjoyed food and Craig enjoyed the wine.
Tuesday 6/14/05
I had lunch with Brenda at Taylor's at the Ferry Building. They had a Farmer's Market and other stores as well as views of the Bay Bridge. Then we got dessert at Specialty's Direct. I relaxed by the pool. Craig and I joined CTE for dinner at Farallon which was absolutely wonderful.
Wednesday 6/15/05
I went to see "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and then met Craig for lunch at Dave's. We went to the pool and then had appetizers on the 45th floor with an amazing view. We walked around the city on our last night, shopped and had a milkshake at Lori's Diner.
Thursday 6/16/05
We had to get up at 4:30 and catch the Super Shuttle to the airport.
