Sunday 6/11/06 - Rio Rio, The Alamo, Paloma, Boat Tour
We flew out of O'Hare and arrived in San Antonio around 11:30 am. We took a cab to our hotel, La Mansion, and had to wait a little while before checking into our room. We hung out at the pool and took a look at the Riverwalk - it was beautiful. Craig's friend, Jacki, drove over from Houston for lunch at Rio Rio and then walked over to The Alamo. It was pretty hot out. We had dinner on the riverwalk at Paloma. Then we took a boat tour on the Rio San Antonio Cruise.
Monday 6/12/06 - La Villita, Market Square, Mi Tierra, Swimming, Landry's
We walked around looking for a breakfast joint, but ended up at Seattle's coffee. Then we went shopping at La Vallita and then walked to Market Square and had lunch at Mi Tierra. They had the BEST Fried Ice Cream!!! Then we did some shopping around Market Square. We went swimming at the hotel that afternoon and then had dinner at Landry's.
Tuesday 6/13/06 - Guenther House, Imax, Alamo, Shopping, Swimming, Pesca
We took the trolley to Guenther House and had breakfast - they had the BEST pastries! Then we went to watch the Alamo Movie on the Imax. We went to The Alamo again and then had ice cream at Haagen Dazs. We did some shopping at Rivercenter Mall and then to the hotel for some swimming. We had dinner at Pesca while my parents watched Ally and had dinner at Rita's.
Wednesday 6/14/06 - Trolley Tour, Missions, La Margarita, Guadalajara Grill, Swimming, County Line BBQ
We had breakfast at G.M. Steakhouse across from The Alamo and then walked over to the Convention Center to view the chalk drawing on the sidewalk which was pretty neat. We took the Alamo Trolley Tour. The first stop was Mission San Jose where we took a guided tour. We then went to Mission Concepcion. The next stop was Market Square, so we had a margarita at La Margarita which was voted "Best Margarita in San Antonio". We enjoyed some music by Wayanay Inka. We had lunch at Guadalajara Grill at La Villita and then shopped. I found the cutest art store by Alice Knight. Then we walked to the Institute of Texan Cultures. We headed back to the hotel for our daily afternoon swim and then had dinner at County Line BBQ on the Riverwalk. I got some ice cream at Ben and Jerry's while others had drinks at a martini bar, Swig
Thursday 6/15/06
We had breakfast at Las Canarias, the restaurant in the hotel, and then headed to the airport. We had such a great trip, and I would love to go back sometime.
