Provides uniformed armed security for US Federal Buildings (Whipple Bldg - Ft Snelling, Downtown Mpls & Downtown St. Paul) and for Social Security office on 18th & Chicago (Mpls). Also patrols some Military areas and old Bureau of Mines Bldg near Airport. Guards are now contracted from Akal Security (changed as of Summer 2004), contract security formerly done by GSSC (General Security Services).
FPS Dispatch operations were consolidated in summer 2003, dispatching is done from Battle Creek, Michigan.
