ARMER Coverage Maps

This is an attempt to provide an approximate coverage map for the various ARMER systems for a scanner listener using the stock antenna.   It is assumed that an actual transceiver will have far greater sensitivity so range pictured on the maps should not be inferred as actual system user coverage.

The maps were created using the freeware program Radio Mobile, version 8.05.    Many, many thanks to the author of the program Roger Coudé VE2DBE.   Merci!

Comments on accuracy are requested.   Email to: [email protected]   Please let me know your location, type of scanner, antenna type, system monitored, indoor/outdoor, and estimated signal strength.

Technical details are included at the bottom of the page, any tweaks or suggestions from radio techs or system experts would also be greatly appreciated!

COLOR KEY

Red:
Indoor: Strong, clear signal in all levels of average house, including basement.
Outdoor:  strong

Green

Outdoor - Strong signal

Purple
Indoor - Weaker, choppy signal.  No coverage in below grade or thicker building materials
Outdoor - Some degradation, generally ok, some signal loss depending on location.

Yellow
Indoor - Signal barely receivable with stock antenna, requires height and directional antenna for reception.
Outdoor - Degraded signal, occasional coverage, improved with height or antennal.
