Building my Stand

My Aquarim stand was an Ebay purchase!  I have been watching an Ebay seller named Cabinetsdoorman.  I really liked the way he attached the stand with the canopy!  I have been watching his auctions, and watching his feedback while debating buying vs building my own stand for nearly 6 months.

Well, with the family and all, I decided that building my own would take up too much of my time, and that the price I could buy Cabinetsdoorman's stand for, I could not go wrong!  I "Bought it Now", mailed my USPS Money Order, Emailed the seller, tracked my packages and the rest is history.

I am so impressed with the quailty wood, ease of assembly, and painless process this has been!  I could not be happier.  Ebay's feedback does not do this seller justice.

While "debating" the auciton, one thing I would have liked was seeing how the stand came, what needed to be done (exactly), etc, etc, etc...   Therefore I am documenting  the stand from arrival to final placement here on this page, both for my Tank Pages, and for any of the sellers future customers.  I have provided him with this address and gave him my blessing to give it to anyone who had questions.  If that is you than please feel free to look over the page (or site).  If you have any questions, I have provided a email link at the top right of the screen.  Hope this helps you out.  Good Luck.

Contents of the two boxes spread out.  Various wood pieces, detailed photo instructions, and a box of hardware! Dave does a nice job of marking everything.  It's very easy to follow.
Packaged in 2 boxes 39 lbs each.  Left box you can still see the banding around the box.
Step one - Staining.  Minwax Provincial.  My favorite color stain for Oak!

Just some misc pic of staining the boards and what they look like.

Sorry, I have been recovering from surgery, going hunting, and dealing with a very ill family cat durring the past several months that I have not worked on the stand.

I did just get a second coat of polyurathane on the stand, and am debating a 3rd coat.  The second coat looks great, but since I have it disassembled, I may as well put the 3rd coat on.

I will update the site with more pics soon!
