ˇ§Dear
Jo, itˇ¦s time to wake up, although there isnˇ¦t gonna be any roses, wake up
anywayˇKˇ¨ in the bright Sunday
morning, after no email from him for two days, Jo is telling this to herself.
Itˇ¦s
actually not big of a deal, really, no emails for two days, isnˇ¦t really a
crime. But to Jo, two days is like
an eternity, especially when she is so desperately wanted to talk to him.
Jo
sits in her hotel room, looking out to the pouring rain, trying to distance
herself from all of the emotional roller-coaster rides, thinking, ˇ§Amazing,
this city rains?ˇ¨ But this is not
working, her mind has already gone back to that missing name in the inbox.
She
tries to concentrate on her work. But
his image just creeps right back in.
Looking
back the years how they have become the way they are right now, itˇ¦s a joke
how this no-email-for-two-days can affect Jo this much.
She doesnˇ¦t understand why.
Actually
Jo and Vin have never been together. Jo
has been a kite flying above, with the birds, with the clouds, in the free blue
sky. Many years later, she is still
flying. Vin has been a steady man,
with steady girlfriend and a steady job. Many
years later, these lead to a marriage and a family firm established in the land
of San Francisco.
Yet,
somehow, Vin manages to get a hold of the end of that flying kite.
Joˇ¦s stuck. Sheˇ¦s been
stuck in his hands since the beginning of many vacation trips, with everybody else.
Why
this has happened? Even a sensible and logical Jo cannot figure out. But
good thing is that these things have not bothered her.
She moves on, from one bird to the other, all with the end of the kite in
Vinˇ¦s hand.
When
she tangles with the clouds in the sky, Vin doesnˇ¦t exist; when the other
cloud detangled from her, she asked Vin to hold on tight.
Pull her back in a little to avoid the current in the indefinite
sky.
So
can it be that this sorrow for Vin is because there is no one at the moment for
Jo to tangle with?
Jo
doesnˇ¦t know.
Jo
doesnˇ¦t know her availability is due to Vinˇ¦s existence, or Vinˇ¦s
existence is due to her availability.
Jo
doesnˇ¦t even know how this story is going to end.
Should she take her first step to fly lower, or she waits for him to pull
her in? There is always pros and
cons of any action, the consequences, the inevitable, and the waiting.
ˇ§Either
or,ˇ¨ Jo thinks to herself, ˇ§I am not going to win.ˇ¨
But she has patience now; she is not in the hurry to do anything or to go
anywhere. Itˇ¦s been more than 10 years now, how much longer would there be?
The
clouds are finally breaking up, still no sunshine, but at least, itˇ¦s not
raining anymore. In the city that
she doesnˇ¦t know it rains.
