C&C Renegade Review
Overall Rating:
I believe that this game deserves a 9.5 out of 10, here is why it does:
Playablity/Concept
Renegade is an First Person Shooter. It focuses on Havoc (the Commando from the very first C&C game). When the game starts you will begin to feel like your Havoc, because you'll get to do things that only a commando would do. You'll love his sarcastic persona and his sense of humor. This game is Westwood's only First Person Shooter title
Sound
Amazing simply amazing. There some of the original music from Command & Conquer, but not a lot. Instead they added some sound effcts to the music like gunfire and tank blasts. Best "song you'll hear in the game is Command & Conquer. It has gunfire, rockets firing and tanks moving and so on and so forth. Some sound effects sound relitivly realilstic and tank blasts are as real as you could get it with out the large definning boom.
Controls
Simple to use and hard to forget, because they are so easy to remember.
Graphics
At few points in the game, Havoc will look like a block with black dots in the middle, but you'll get over that. There is blood in this game, but the blood is nothing but blocks and it is really easy to see the blocks. Enviroments are large and fairly detalied, such as in a mission where you are to travel to a Church where a town is being invaded by The Nod. The town has flipped over tanks downed helicopters, and Nod soldiers throwing ropes down building sides so they can climb down. Sometimes buildingds will disappear, althought rare it's a little annoying.
Online Play
This is the best part of the game. Crud loads of user made maps. The online experience changes a lot and makes the game more enjoyable. Quick voice commands like "RETURN TO BASE" OR "ATACK POWER PLANT" saves the time typing it. Typing makes you stand still and makes you an open target so type in the shade or a place where you are safe from the opponent. Back to what I was saying. There a a few maps that are offical which have helicopters, but there are so many mod maps have flying vehicles in them. Online enviroments are highly detailed, but some maps are made for a none stop kill fest, while others are made for long prolonged combat. If you are like me, then you'll love the tank fights on the map called Under.
Replay value
Moderately High
