Writing a
Tall Tale
Take your
autobiography and turn it into a tall tale by using one of the following
options:
1)
Write
a tall tale which is a metaphor or symbol for the importance of your birth to
your parents or another relative (grandparent, aunt, uncle, godparent, etc.)
who is close to you ( Edward Bloom’s story about Will’s birth)
2)
Write
a tall tale which foreshadows something about who you will be later in life.
(Edward Bloom’s slippery birth.)
We will be
taking some time in class to work on revising these tales. The final draft of your tall tale should be
approximately 1-2 double spaced typed pages.
