Adaptations Follow the
screenplay text and make notations about any changes between the text and
the film (deleted lines or scenes, extra dialogue,
etc.) |

Cinematography Look for
different camera angles, shots, focus, camera
movement (see “Golden’s Glossary of Film Terminology”

Lighting &
Sound Comment on
the use of lighting and sound in the film to create certain affects (see
“Golden’s Glossary of Film Terminology”
handout) |

Actors Observe the
actors: How do they speak?
Look for accents, subtexts, emphasis, etc. How do they look? Look for facial expressions,
posture, costumes, etc? |

Literary
Elements/Motifs Look for
literary elements within the film including setting, symbols, metaphors,
foreshadowing, repetition of motifs, etc. |
