| SUMMER TRACK AND FIELD 2009 OUR MISSION: To create a positive atmosphere and provide a service to the youth community of Greenville, Texas and our neighbors to the Northeast Commerce, Texas. Also, to include other communities in the Hunt County area. In August 2000 John E. Mason, Jr. and Modesto Gilstrap started the process of developing a new track club for Greenville, Texas and surrounding communities (Commerce, Lone Oak, Caddo Mills, etc.) PURPOSE: Our purpose is to offer youth the opportunity to develop socially, mentally and physically. Because we believe track and field helps to build strength and endurance for every sport encountered. OBJECTIVE: Our objective is to develop activities for school age youths between the ages of 6 through 18 to provide all youths with guidance and athletic development training. TRACK MEETS: Meets will be held throughout the State of Texas under the TAAF Association, which includes the TAAF Games of Texas. Our club also competes in AAU Association meets with the goal competing at the AAU National Junior Olympics held in different states nationwide every year. A forthcoming season schedule will provide dates and places. Directions and times for each meet will be provided on a weekly basis.
