John Maier Nathan Major July 14, 2003 Dear Mr. Deighton, For our proposal, after reviewing different types of businesses, we propose to commence a security business. We see crime everyday in the newspapers, on T.V., and on the street. Our goal is to provide exceptional security to homes and businesses to protect their goods or services. Our business has been engineered to serve grocery stores, jewelers, automotive retailers, department stores, and electronics stores such as Future Shop. We have decided to invest money in high-tech security devices in order to protect our client as best as possible. Our price might be slightly above-average, however we plan to provide much better security than our competitors. Our clients will have security concerns, and they want to willingly pay our fees in order to protect their products. They recognize that our fees are cheap compared to losses should their store or house be robbed. We plan to use electronic monitoring and sensoring systems, in conjunction with the local police, in order to ensure the complete security of our clients. Using these devices, we guarantee to prevent any theft that may be attempted against our clients. We realize that our customers have spent their lives creating and maintaining their businesses, and we will protect them as we would our own. The type of business we will begin will be a partnership. Our responsibilities will be divided equally among myself and Nathan. The following is a plan for what each partner will be responsible for throughout the course of this culminating task. 1. Neatly typed proposal — John 2. Loan application interview — Both 3. Spreadsheet budget — Nathan 4. Location of business — John and Nathan 5. Name, logo, and motto — John 6. Business database — John 7. Business brochure — Nathan 8. Advertising flyer — John and Nathan 9. M & M Internet Site — John and Nathan 10. T.V. commercial script — Nathan 11. T.V. commercial recording — John and Nathan 12. Presentation planning and execution — John and Nathan After researching different possible locations, we have decided that we should purchase the tiny police station on Jean d’Arc which is not being used by the police any more, since they have relocated to the newer station. We figure that we can buy the building for a relatively low price, because of its size. Since it was built as a police station, it was certainly in a location where it can protect as many people as possible, which is basically what we want to do also. There will need to be certain renovations, which will be stated in our budget. In the world of today, business owners need a sense of security, and assurance that their company is safe. We belief that we can provide this assurance, while making a profit for ourselves at the same time. Through hard work, a reasonable loan, and your approval, we will be able to make our commercial areas, and our community, safer places. Sincerely, John Maier
