WEAPONS
A war will require weaponry to be fought. While many of the items are those found in Majora's Mask, in the effort to balance out the races, several new weapons have been created. Weapon skill points are described in the Skills section and the Make Your Character section. Each weapon comes with a description, and explanations on which races can use it, how much one skill point will get you, the maximum skill level of the weapon, the profession that contructs the weapon, the number of these weapons that can be produced in one day, the minimum experience level of the constructor, materials needed to make it, and the cost to make it.
Key: For the Skill category, the level shows which level you will go to as a result of spending one skill point. After one is spent, it will always take 1 to advance to each higher level. For the Number category, the number of weapons made increases by one for each level of skill. for example, a Level 1 smithy can make one Terminian sword a day. A Level 2 smithy may make two a day. If it takes two days to make a sword, they can make two every two days, or one a day. If it take three days to make a sword, it will take three days to make two. It will take one and a half days to make each. The Maximum Level is what the highest skill level you can achieve with the weapon is. The Minimum Level is the minimum non-weapon skill level required to make the weapon (the non-weapon skill being in the profession stated under Profession). Materials tells you the materials needed to construct the weapon. Previous Weapon tells you of the weapon you need to learn to use before you can use that weapon (Level 2 or higher required). Finally, professions are often followed by a (xT), x being a letter. This represents that only one taught by a certain race can make this, the letter indicating the race (example: (GT)= Gerudo Teaching). If you don't know, GrT= Goron Teaching and HT= Human Teaching.
SPEARS
| SPEAR: | Races: Terminians, Ikana, Gerudo | Skill: Level 2 | Max. Level: 3 | ||||
| Profession: Spearmaker | Number: 2 per day | Min. Level: 1 | |||||
| Materials: None | Construction Cost: 3 rupees |
The most basic weapon among the human races is the spear. This is a popular weapon among many, because it is easy to learn how to use (1 skill point takes you to level 2). Because of this easiness, it is generally standard issue among troops of the miltaries. Even better, it is easy and cheap to make and therefore costs little. However, the spear is also one of the weakest of weapons in battle, and thus many skilled warriors prefer to go into battle with something more useful.
| GERUDO | Races: Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SPEAR: | Profession: Spearmaker (GT) | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: None | Construction Cost: 6 rupees |
The Gerudo's main weapon, it is much like a sword. Rather than the standard pointed spear, the Gerudo Spear is a pole with a large blade on the end. While having a longer range than most swords, it is also more bulky. It requires a somewhat skilled Spearmaker to construct this.
| SILVER | Races: Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| GERUDO | Profession: Spearmaker (GT) | Number: 1 per 4 days | Min. Level: 3 | ||||
| SPEAR: | Materials: Silver Ore | C. Cost: 12 rupees | Pr. Weapon: Ger. Spear |
The best of the Gerudo's spears is the Silver Gerudo Spear. The blade lined with silver, it gives the user more power in combat. The silver, however, is difficult to obtain. It is found throughout the Beaver Dam in the Zora's territory, making this blade incredibly rare. Also, a high construction cost, the length it takes to make these, and the high skill needed of the Spearmaker gives this spear an incredibly high price. This is an advanced weapon.
| HORSEBACK | Races: Ikana, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SPEAR: | Profession: Spearmaker | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: None | C. Cost: 10 rupees | Other Skills: Horse Riding |
This spear variation is available to the Gerudo and Ikana, but not the Terminians. It seems that these humans, while trained in Horse Riding, cannot wield this spear very well and prefer the usage of bows while on horseback. Anyway, this spear is ideal for riding on horseback, as the others are large and clumsy. It does require more skill, time and money to make than a normal spear, but not much. This is the only close-range weapon that you can use on horseback, making it quite a helpful item for these races that have learned to use it. This is an advanced weapon.
SWORDS
| TERMINIAN | Races: Terminian | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SWORD: | Profession: Smithy (TT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 1 | ||||
| Material: None | Construction Cost: 5 rupees |
The basic sword, forged by the Terminian blacksmiths and created only for the Terminian's use. This is the favorite weapon among starting warriors, as it provides good power, yet does not take all that long to learn how to use. This is standard issue in the Terminian Army to the swordsmen, one of the most fearsome classes of warriors in Termina. There is a strong emphasis on learning how to handle a sword among Terminians, encouraged by the sword school in West Clock Town.
| RAZOR | Races: Terminian | Skill: Level 2 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SWORD: | Profession: Smithy (TT) | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Material: None | Const. Cost: 8 rupees | Pr. Weapon: Terminian Sword |
Terminians skilled with the ways of the sword will be eager to advance to this more powerful sword. The Razor Sword not only looks really cool with its two seperate blades, but it also adds more power to the user. It is required to be at at least Level 2 with the Terminian Sword if you want to use this. but because of your training with other swords, your first skill point spent on this sword will get you to Level 2. This sword requires a somewhat skilled Smithy, but still does not take all that many days or materials to make, so it should have decent availability. This is an advanced weapon.
| GILDED | Races: Terminian | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SWORD: | Profession: Smithy (TT) | Number: 1 per 5 days | Min. Level: 3 | ||||
| Materials: Gold Dust | Const. Cost: 15 rupees | Pr. Weapon: Razor Sword |
Possibly the most powerful weapon in the game, the Gilded Sword is the best sword a Terminian can get. However, getting it is the hard part. The Gold Dust needed to make the sword is not only in Goron territroy, but it is also rare to find. A very skilled Smithy is required to make this sword as well, and it'll take him 5 days and cost more than most weapons. A weapon like this is very rare, but the payoff is worth it. Unlike the Razor Sword, the power of the Gilded sword will only bring you to Level 1 when your first skill point is spent. This is an advanced weapon.
| WOODFALL | Races: Deku | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BLADE: | Profession: Smithy (DT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Woodfall Cattail | Construction Cost: 4 rupees |
In order to balance out the races, I've given the Deku, Gorons, and Zoras the ability use swords. Their swords, however, are not as powerful as the Terminians, and all require special items to make. The Deku Blade's Woodfall Cattail is found in the Woodfall area of the Southern Swamp, and is quite abundant. This sword is smaller than most swords, which is quite fitting to the Deku's size. The handle is made of wood, but the cattail coating will prevent it from burning or rotting.
| SWORD OF | Races: Goron | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SNOWHEAD: | Profession: Smithy (GrT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Hot Spring Water | Construction Cost: 7 rupees |
Mighty Goron warriors wield this large blade, but it size does not directly reflect its strength, as it as just as effective as even the small Woodfall Blade. The Smithy cools the blade in Hot Spring Water before even colder water to make it. It size reflects on its cost, but other than that it is a rather standard race sword. The Hot Spring Water is easy to find, however, around the Goron territories.
| EXCALIBER | Races: Zora | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| OF THE SEA: | Profession: Smithy (ZT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Seashell | Construction Cost: 5 rupees |
The Zoran sword is mixed with a fine seashell powder. It is a medium sized sword, and does not cost an exceptional amount. The seashells are scattered about the floor of the Great Bay as well as the beach, and are very easy to find. The rest of the requirments are very standard for a race sword.
| GREAT FAIRY'S | Races: Terminian, Ikana | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| SWORD: | Profession: N/A | Number: N/A | Min. Level: N/A | ||||
| Materials: N/A | Construction Cost: N/A |
This is the most powerful sword in the game, and the only one that the Ikana know how to use. There is only one of these, and no one alive knows how to make them. As the most powerful sword, it has all the benefits of the Gilded Sword and then some. No matter what the level of the user, it will always deal a fatal blow if it hits, and it will also affect the user's opponent's Evasiveness Score by -2. Many people have entered the Stone Tower Temple in search of this wondrous blade, but few ever return.
BOWS
| SHORT BOW: | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| Profession: Bowyer (HT) | Number: 2 per day | Min. Level: 1 | |||||
| Materials: Wood | Const. Cost: 2 rupees |
This is the standard bow among the humans. It is the cheapest item to make in the game, and can be made quickly without much skill. The only thing that is somewhat difficult to get is the wood. This wood can be found in Termina Field and the Graveyard, which is most convinient for the Terminians and Ikana. Gerudo divers can swim to the bottom of the lagoon or Great Bay to find wood suitable for making this bow. This is a common weapon that many have for long-range usage. This is one of the few bows that may be used while riding a horse.
| LONG | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BOW: | Profession: Bowyer (HT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Wood | Const. Cost: 8 rupees | Pr. Weapon: Short Bow |
The Long Bow costs more and takes longer to make than a Short Bow. However, unlike most bows, it adds +1 onto your Evasiveness Score. This may not be worth the time and money needed to learn how to use the bow, but it is helpful in Combat. It cannot be used on Horseback. This is an advanced weapon.
| DEKU BOW: | Races: Deku | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| Profession: Bowyer (DT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 3 | |||||
| Materials: Swamp Wood | Const. Cost: 5 rupees |
The bow used by the Deku. It is smaller than the Short Bow, yet requires more skill to make. Also needed is wood from the Southern Swamp. Only the best bow-makers can craft the bow so it works perfectly for the small Deku.
| MOUNTAIN | Races: Goron | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BOW: | Profession: Bowyer (GrT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Mountain Wood | Construction Cost: 9 rupees |
Goron's also may use bows, this kind benefitting from the strong trees of the northern mountain range. It does not require as much skill to make as the Deku Bow, but its larger size makes the cost much higher. This bow is quite bulky, and many Goron warriors prefer not to carry it because of its size.
| ZORAN | Races: Zora | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BOW: | Profession: Bowyer (ZT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Driftwood | Construction Cost: 6 rupees |
The Zoran race uses these lightweight bows in battle, carved from driftwood that washes up on the beaches of the Great Bay. The making of this bow has been passed down for generations of Zora, and is still effective today. It takes about as much skill to make as the Mountain Bow, but costs less to make.
| ELEMENTAL | Races: All | Skill: Level 2 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BOW: | Profession: Bowyer | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Level: 3 | ||||
| Materials: Swamp Wood | Const. Cost: 10 rupees | Pr. Weapon: ??? Bow |
The Elemental bow is a step up from the other bows, and though it is listed as one bow, is specific to all the races. To use this bow, the warrior must learn how to use the previous bow of their race. So, what's different? Standard bows do not allow the user to fire Fire, Ice, or Light arrows, but the Elemental Bow does. The problem is, the bow can only be constructed from the fine wood found in the Southern Swamp, thus making it not easily accessible. Excellent to have, but hard to get. This is an advanced weapon.
| HERO'S | Races: Terminian, Ikana, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| BOW: | Profession: N/A | Number: N/A | Min. Level: N/A | ||||
| Materials: N/A | Const. Cost: N/A |
Here's the most powerful bow. Like the Great Fairy's Sword, there is only one, and it is said to be hidden somewhere in Termina Field. This is a powerful bow from Hyrule, brought by Link and left. This powerful bow, like the Great Fairy's Sword, will always have an additional -2 effect on the opponent's Evasiveness Score. It may also be used on Horseback, and also has the powers of the Elemental Bow.
AXES
| LIGHT | Races: Deku, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| AXE: | Profession: Axemaker (DT, GT) | Number: 2 per day | Min. Level: 1 | ||||
| Materials: None | Const. Cost: 3 rupees |
This is a very small axe, used by the Deku and Gerudo. The Deku wield it like a normal axe (with two hands), while the Gerudo purchase them in pairs and use two at once. It has blades on one side of the handle. They are inexpensive to make, and can be made quickly. Not much skill is required to make them, nor any materials.
| BATTLE | Races: Ikana, Zora, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| AXE: | Profession: Axemaker (IT, ZT, GT) | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Iron | Const. Cost: 6 rupees |
A medium-sized axe. While originally intended for use by the Ikana and Gerudo, the Zora have made a variation that works well. Though small compared to the two-handed axe, the user wields it with both hands. It has blades on both sides of the handle. It requires iron to be made, which can be found in abundance in Termina Field. For the Gerudo, this is an advanced weapon, and if they already know how to use Light Axes, then they will begin at Level 2 (they do not have to learn how to use Light Axes first, however).
| TWO-HANDED | Races: Ikana, Zora, Goron | Skill: Level 1 | Max. Level: 4 | ||||
| AXE: | Profession: Axemaker | Number: 1 per 2 days | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Iron | Const. Cost: 10 rupees |
This gigantic axe can only be used by the strongest of Ikanan and Zoran warriors. For Gorons, on the other hand, this axe is not all that heavy and can swing it with one hand (though they prefer two). This axe is very large, an carrying it around is a tad cumbersome (but easily doable). They require larger amounts of time and money to create than a Battle Axe. This is an advanced weapon for the Ikana and Zora, and the must have used the Battle Axe as a previous weapon. However, they will begin at Level 2 with this axe.
BOOMERANGS
| RAZOR | Races: Terminians, Deku | Skill: Level 1 | Max Level: 4 | ||||
| BOOMERANG: | Profession: Woodworker | Number: 1 per day | Min. Level: 2 | ||||
| Materials: Wood | Const. Cost: 5 rupees |
This is a normal boomerang equipped with a razor blade on half of the edge. The user is very skilled, as he must make one side come in contact with the enemy while always catching it on the other (this will always happen, don't worry). The boomerangs are quick weapons, and do not require a whole lot of effort to make. They are somewhat similar to bows. This boomerang is much larger than a normal boomerang, and therefore can be used to clash in battle.
| CHAKRAM: | Races: Terminians, Gerudo | Skill: Level 1 | Max Level: 4 | ||||
| Profession: Woodworker | Number: 2 per day | Min. Level: 3 | |||||
| Materials: Coating | Const. Cost: 7 rupees |
A variation of the boomerang, the Chakra is a wooden ring with four small blades around the edge. They are purchased in pairs. Making them will require great skill, as the shape must be exactly right if the ring is to return to the thrower. The wood is coated with a hard resin that allows it to clash with other weapons in battle. This coating is made from tree sap found in Termina Field.
In order to promote individuality, let me say that these weapons are not necessarily all the same. Two characters using Terminian Swords could have two very different-looking weapons. It depends on who makes it, and if you choose one of the weapons as an item your character had beforehand, you choose how it looks. Looks may be different however, but attributes are not. Can you make up your own weapons? No. Then everyone would create super-powerful weapons, which wouldn't make the RPG as fun. But fear not, several times there will be contests/drawings in that you may submit new weapon ideas, and if I and/or the Council like the idea, it may be made into a real weapon.
