GORONS

Territory: Snowhead, Goron Village, Mountain Village     Leader: Goron Elder

The Goron are a large, burly race, one of the non-humans. Their size gives them great strength, but also makes them a larger target. Gorons are immune to lava, and also do fairly well with the cold. They do prefer a temperate climate, and don't especially like the cold winters of Snowhead. However, they do love the crisp mountain air and the mountains are home to the Goron. There are three main areas of the Snowhead Mountains, which include Snowhead, the Goron Village, and the Mountain Village. The path leading down to Termina Field is known as the Mountain Road, and is a steep climb, and made even more difficult in snowy weather.

The end of the Mountain Road leads into the Mountain Village, which is more of a field than a village. Here lives the Mountain Smithy, a skilled workman who specializes in swords. The Mountain Vilage also contains a river and above is Darmani's Grave, where Goron heroes are buried. This area connects the other two.

The path the Snowhead is long and requires hookshots or Goron rolling to make it to the Temple. The Snowhead area itself does not have much to offer, save the Great Fairy's Fountain. It will likely be a place that Gorons will populate, as it is remote and rather safe.

The path to the Goron Village goes above a large lake (frozen in the winter), with only a few small bridges going over. On the way is the Goron Race track, which is an incredibly popular sport among the Gorons, as with great speed the fastest Gorons challenge each other. The Goron Village itself if chiefly made up of two large domes, where most of the population lives. Outside is more potential living space, as well as the Powder Keg Instructor's, where Gorons learn how to skillfully use the huge blasting power of the Powder Keg. A lone floating island hovers behind the village, where Gorons gather for rituals.

Gorons have good defenses, though not excellent. The uphill climb on the Mountain Trail will be difficult for the other races, especially in Winter. The narrow paths leading to Snowhead and Goron Village make travel in masses difficult, so large-scale attacks will take longer. Finally, the domes that the Gorons live in are well-built and can withstand a lot.

The Gorons, as a non-human race, are limited to the amount of Weapons available to them. But not to worry, as Gorons have some handy attacks that everyone in their race knows. They can swing a powerful punch, smash things with the Goron Pound, and most helpful of all, travel at high speeds while rolling. Rolling goes about as fast as a horse, and when magic is used, even faster (though it is too innaccurate to be used as an attack). Gorons are immune to lava, and walk over it freely. However, Gorons cannot tolerate water and falling into water means almost certain death for a Goron unless he is pulled out quickly.

Gorons enjoy playing the drums, and have come up with many enchanting beats. Songs they know is limited only to the Goron Lullaby, a melody that puts Gorons to sleep. Definitely not something the Gorons want other races to get their hands on (although the Gorons will wake if attacked). The only mask supposedly in the Goron's territory is Don Gero's Mask, a mask that gives the user incredible composing abilities.

Goron's love to eat plump, juicy rocks from the Snowhead Temple, but their favorite food is rock sirloin. This food is very rare, as it is said to have come from Dodongo's Cavern. It appears in various locations, and no one knows how it gets there.

The Gorons use the Sword of Snowhead, Mountain Bow, and Elemental Bow. Having control of the Fire Arrows, getting ahold of elemental bows could spell a quick end for their bitter enemies the Terminians.
