GERUDO

Territory: Gerudo Lagoon, Gerudo Fortress     Leader: Gerudo Princess

The Gerudo are a hardy race, able to adapt to the climate given to them. They are mainly females, though every two game years a male Gerudo comes along and rules over the Gerudo (he must fight other males for the position of king, but not necessarily to the death). They live on the far side of the Great Bay, where they tunnel into the rock to expand their fortress. To promote fairness between the races, the Gerudo have an underground tunnel connecting Termina Field to the fortress. However, they must beware, as anyone can take this tunnel. They are skilled at using spears and horses, though a ranch is not available to them. They like the nearby water, and thus are very good at boatmaking, as well as swimming and diving. However, their main skill is thieving, something that their race is very well known for. All Gerudos start with a Level 1 thieving ability.

Geurdo Lagoon is right next to the Great Bay. A large wall protects the Gerudo from a potential Zora attack, and the underwater passage has been sealed by rocks, and they can only be removed from the inside, with either 10 bombs or a Powder Keg. This means there is pretty much only one way into the Lagoon, and that is heavily forified. The Lagoon itself is a guarded expanse of water before the Pitate's Fortress, also known as the Gerudo Fortress. This is a peaceful place for people to live, but not as safe or as practical as in the fortress.

The entrance to the Fortress is from a recently-constructed bridge on the far side of the Lagoon. The fortress itself has a large open area, perfect for festivals and outdoor activites. The bulk of the Fortress, however, is made out of chambers in the mountainsides. These seem just like normal houses, and they may be extended even further into the mountain. A project of digging a tunnel to Termina Field from the fortress is said to be underway.

The Gerudo have good defenses, and there are several things attackers will have to overcome, even if they are of the Zora race. The narrow passages of the many indoor places of the Gerudo makes taking over difficult and separting parts of the town from the rest easy.

The Gerudo are masters at using the Spear, especially the long, bladed version they created for maximum damage. They are also good at riding horses, though there is not much room in their civilzation for much riding.

The Gerudo play the Harp, which recently took the place of the Ocarina as the instrument the Gerudo play. They are good at whistling, as well. They do not have any songs, but do have access to Kamaro's Mask, a mask that gives its owner incredible, almosthypnotic dancing powers, which makes them almost sure to win any dance competition.

The Gerudo are not picky and tend to eat most anything from the other races, but they do enjoy eating eggs of sea creatures... sometimes even Zora eggs.

The Gerudo can use such weapons as the Spear, Gerudo Spear, Silver Gerudo Spear, Horseback Spear, Short Bow, Long Bow, Elemental Bow, and even the legendary Hero's Bow.
