Jailhouse Match
THE BOOTLEGGER vs. THE
RYNO
Ryno made his entrance to the prison courtyard first, and was quickly
surrounded by twenty inmates and four prison guards, as per the stipulations of the match. A
couple of moments later, The Bootlegger was announced and his music started to play, but the
universal champion didn't show. Again the introdcution was played, but again Bootlegger failed
to appear. Just then, a voice echoed from the prison horn.
BOOTLEGGER: "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaah!!! You pathetic
BORE!!! How man times must I HUMILIATE you, RYNO!!!?? When will it finally get through
your thick skull that you are NO MATCH for my cunning!! You say you're the only thing
standing between me and O'CONNER, well then I shall have to agree. That is why I have taken
you out of the PICTURE!! Hahahahahahahahahah!!! Pleibeian, you've just fallen for the oldest
trick in MY book!! Ye olde decoy maneuver!!! Hehahahahahahahahahah!!!!"
At that moment, the guards turned their heads away from Ryno and the inmates, and headed
back into the building.
BOOTLEGGER: "But before I go and aid the good ol' CAPTAIN in meeting HIS well-
deserved DESTINY, I've got one more little surprise for you, RYNO mah boy...... JERSEY
BOYS!!! Ten thousand dollars to the one who brings me that pathetic mongrel's scalp!!!
Hahahahah... adieu RYNO, have a nice afterlife."
The Bootlegger's villainous laughter echoed from the horn. The inmates began to close in on the
Ryno as the camera burst into static, sending it back to the MMP Coliseum.
Wood: It looks like The Bootlegger has pulled the wool over everybody's
eyes once again, and Ryno is the one who has to pay the price. Let's hope security at the prison
can get a handle on the situation before things get out of hand. While we try to get an update on
what's happening out in New Jersey, let's send you back to the ring for the main event. The
world title is at stake as O'Conner looks to complete his run of The Cult against the biggest of
them all, The Destroyer.
MMP World Championship Match
CAPTAIN PATRICK
O'CONNER (C) vs. THE DESTROYER
The Destroyer made his way out first, but as "Freedom" by Rage Against the
Machine blared over the loudspeaker, something was different. Tonight the big man was being
accompanied by not only Harbinger, but also Daark and even The Cult Master himself. The
odds certainly seemed to be against the champion going into the match, for since George turned
on O'Conner and joined The Syndicate, the Captain hasn't had anyone by his side to watch his
back. The champion stepped through the ropes cautiously, knowing that one mistake against a
man the size of tonight's opponent could cost him the title. Before the two men could lock up,
O'Conner went right for Destroyer's bad knee with a kick directed right for the kneecap, but the
big man seemed to expect such an attack and caught O'Conner's leg, kicking the other leg out
from under him, and nailing a huge elbowdrop to O'Conner's inner thigh. As he got back to his
feet, Destroyer shook his leg to loosen it up, showing that it was indeed back to 100% after the
injury he suffered against The Bootlegger a few weeks ago. Pulling O'Conner back to his feet,
Destroyer nailed the world champion with a big backbreaker, holding him across the knee
before standing up once again and turning the move into a sidewalk slam. Pressing his knee
down hard into O'Conner's back as the champion lay flat on his stomach, The Destroyer looked
to be well on his way towards the world title in the early going. Pulling O'Conner back to his
feet, the big man tossed him off the ropes and went for a clothesline, but before he could
connect, O'Conner caught him with a spinning heel kick to the jaw. The big man was staggered,
remaining on his feet though his senses had been knocked momentarily ajar. With his opponent
dazed, O'Conner was quick to respond, hitting Destroyer in the knee that had been injured
several weeks ago with a chop block from behind. The challenger went down to one knee, but
from there it was easy for O'Conner to wrestle the big man to the mat. O'Conner then returned
the favor from earlier in the match, driving some knees into the back of The Destroyer, who
squirmed on the canvas in pain, pain that only intensified when O'Conner slapped on a leglock
submission hold. The massive size of the big man made it easy for Destroyer to reach the
bottom rope to break the hold, and using the ropes for leveredge he pulled himself up in the
corner. Seeing his opponent distracted by the pain in his leg, O'Conner backed into a corner
himself before charging in with an avalanche. The size difference between the two men,
however, made the move rather ineffective, as Destroyer easily caught O'Conner in mid air,
carrying him out towards the center of the ring in a bearhug. After holding the bearhug for more
than a minute, Destroyer hoisted O'Conner into position and charged into the corner, crushing
O'Conner, and the referee, against the turnbuckle. Both the official and the world champion hit
the mat hard as Destroyer backed off into a neutral corner where he stood catching his breath.
The Cult Master then put his master plan into action. With the official down, O'Conner was at
the mercy of The Cult. Harbinger was the first man into the ring, carrying a steel chair. As
O'Conner pulled himself up Harbinger wound up to smash the champion in the head with the
chair, but before he could connect, O'Conner caught him with a kick to the midsection. With
Harbinger doubled over, O'Conner grabbed the steel chair away and took care of Harbinger
with a shot to the head. As he kicked Harbinger under the bottom rope, however, Daark slid
into the ring behind O'Conner and jabbed him in the back with a taser. O'Conner collapsed in a
heap, allowing Destroyer to grab the champion from behind and apply the Will Breaker.
Seemingly wanting O'Conner to feel the maximum possible pain before the match was ended,
nobody from The Cult attended to the official, waiting for him to come around under his own
power. As The Cult looked on at their masterpiece, out from the crowd came The Bootlegger
and Virus Richards! The two men hopped the safety rail, with Bootlegger sliding into the ring
and Virus using a kneelift to the back to run Cult Master into the ring post. More concerned
with his leader's safety than with the world title, Daark cut Virus off, and the two men traded
blows back and forth on the floor while, in the ring, Bootlegger came up on Destroyer from
behind and nailed him over the back of the head with the golf club that he had used over the past
couple of weeks. Two more shots to the top of the head put Destroyer down, but in a surprise
move, Bootlegger draped Destroyer's arm over O'Conner's prone frame before coming to the
outside to help out Virus. With Bootlegger and Daark pounding away on one another, Virus
rolled into the ring and reversed the pin, pulling Destroyer off and putting O'Conner on top of his
opponent. The tag champ helped revive the referee, but was quickly pulled out of the ring by
Harbinger, who was coming around on the outside. The Cult Master then got back to his feet
and joined Daark in assaulting The Bootlegger, but what he didn't see was that, in the ring, the
referee was coming to. Seeing O'Conner making the cover on Destroyer, the official counted
the 1...2...3! Amidst the carnage on the arena floor, O'Conner had retained the world title. The
Bootlegger quickly escaped the attack by Daark and Cult Master, joining Virus in the aisle, but
upon hearing that O'Conner had won, Bootlegger was enraged. Virus explained that he had
gotten the job done, but that only drew the ire of The Bootlegger, who wanted to help Destroyer
knock off O'Conner. Virus argued back that he was making sure that O'Conner kept the title,
saving their title shot at the PPV. The two men argued all the way to the back. Meanwhile,
back in the ring, O'Conner's celebration was short livid. Furious at the outcome of the match, all
four Cult members at ringside joined in on a quadruple-team attack on the Captain as the screen
fades to black.
