Pamasor's Book

As the gate opened, Pamasor’s jaw dropped, at the spectacle he saw in front of him. It was the best thing he had seen in his life. Pamasor being a poor merchant had a low sense of high value, but he knew this was different. How he longed to see such a sight, all his life nothing had ever gone right. The feeling of pleasurable joy he felt now, surpassed even the happiness he felt as he opened and read the letter granting the right to enter the castle. The instructions were clear, be here at the Castle Gate just before the sun rose, and it also told him to bring his most sacred item. Pamasor brought a book.

He was born into a poor family raised by his three sisters. His sisters raised him because he parents were shot just as they had gained the right to enter the castle to see the hidden spectacle. He had grown up basically on his own because his sisters never took interest in him. He learned of his skill when he was thirteen. He loved to read, he used his gift to read books and then sell them for half price sometimes for less. He sold books his entire life until he could see what his parents died seeing... What could possibly be so great that death would result? Now he had, it was now in front of him. It was definitely worth the wait...Pamasor closed his book and gazed at the light, which radiated from it. It was warm and soothing to his cold flesh. Pamasor closed his eyes, and stepped in the room and approached it. He knew he was close to it because he felt warmer. He kept his eyes clenched and reached out towards it. He opened his eyes. It was so bright he could not see. He turned away from the light, the gate closed. He heard a scream that was familiar yet different at the same time. He looked down, he saw himself. He was being burned by it, it was burning him, he screamed and closed his eyes again...Pamasor opened his book and slowly opened his eyes. The pages flew out and blew all over, he yelled, as the remains of his book caught fire. It burned and nothing remained of it. His hands burst with rays of light, he looked up and screamed, and above him he saw his parents calling his name. Then it was clear to him what was happening. He followed his calling and left his body below him as he rose upward.... Pamasor closed his book…the remaining pages float form his hand and landed outside the castle. The sun arose and his sisters woke and found the letter on Pamasor’s nightstand. They ran to the castle gate. A solemn aura came over them as the tattered remains of the book lay before them. One of them picked up a page. A tear filled her eye as she read it out loud. She sobbed as she said, “As the gate opened, Pamasor’s jaw dropped, at the spectacle he saw in front of him. It was the best thing he had seen in his life…..”
