Life for the Cherokee started as a $300 suv because the GM 2.8 made the block and oil pan resemble something more like swiss cheese. After I found another motor in a junk yard and a full rebuilt it was on the road or usually on the trails. Next mod was some 235/75 tires on offset 15x8 wagon wheels. Then came the 3" rough country lift for $100. It has setteled alittle but the springs are super soft for great articulation. Next came the bumpers front is out of 1 1/2" rigid electrical conduit, I've pulled and been pulled out by it numerous time and its still there unbent, sure suprised me though. It definately held up alot better than the sway bar that I tried to pull off of one time, that just ripped off; oh well it was about time for it to come off anyways. Tie rod broke next or really it just bent in a big U. That was interesting, leaving a burn out mark for over a mile cuz it was so badly missaligned. So I just got a new one and stuck a solid rod in the middle of it, works great no problems. Next mod was no doors, this so far has been one of the best mods so far. You won't believe the kind of looks you can get driving around town in a doorless cherokee. I'm not quite sure if its legal but I've had cops pull up right next to me and not say a word, I think they were more in shock.

Tearin through one of the bogs that we made. Dug it out with a CAT track-loader so it was about 6' deep and then filled it back in with mud. It claims most that enter, chero plows right through floatin along.

Since it was only $300, I really don't care much about keepin it nice. Its an off road toy, and trees and rocks will get in the way, why worry. It did have a brand new coat of paint on it when I got it though.

Ahh, 36" SX's on a 3" lift. If you notice I ran out of jack stands so the rear is just sittin on drums.

Well 36's aren't very nice to Dana 35's, but I should of set the pre load right the first time. Notice the donut spare, thats a 235/75!

Bald tires do suprisingly well in mud, well at least for the cherokee. Once the mud forms a nice packed layer on the tires, they start flinging like none other. Farmer's access roads to fields make good mud runs.

The 3" lift is almost perfect with the offset rims and slightly bigger tires, no rub and havn't rolled yet.
First night out with the 36's, man I love the hum they make on the highway.

Doin alittle fender modification with the oxy-set. Note it is not recommened that you use a torch on fenders expectially on the side with the GAS TANK SPOUT. Nothing did happen but it could of very well happened. Use a sawzall if you do yours its cleaner and safer.
12-21-02 Did alittle wheeling right before Christmas cuz it decided to thunderstorm instead of snow acouple days before. Notice the slightly cleaner doors, no doors is great while wheeling but on the ride home in 30 degree weather they sure are nice to have.
More pics after wheeling on 12-21-02. Hopefully acouple days before I start my 6"+ long arm lift.

Here is what the Chero look like now with the 6" lift and custom long arms in the front.
