Benchmark 1:  Students, either alone or with others, will sing a varied repertoir of music.
Benchmark 2:  Students, either alone or with others, will play on instruments a varied repertoire of music.

Sing in tune and match pitch fairly accurately.
Play a steady beat on rhythnic classroom instruments.
Explore pre-notational symbols.
Create musical responses to songs and instrumental music.
Develop a listening repertoire of short musical selections.
Identify three to five classroom instruments.
Describe reacton to music.
Respond to clapping by echo clapping.
Move expressively and by imitation.
Recognize contrast: loud-soft, fast-slow
Use appropriate music vacabulary.
Learn folk songs of America.
Learn simple folk songs of other countries.
