First of all, K&N's do nothing. It's maybe 1-2HP at most but since you put
the filter in the HOT engine compartment you are probably LOSING HP due to
the hot air being drawn in. You are supposed to run that to the finder to get
cold air drawn in.

This couldn't be more wrong. What's the point of a huge open dual exhaust if
the motor can't push enough air through it? You most likely lost backpressure
from that mod and as a result probably gained 1-2HP at most BUT lost 5-10
ft/lbs of torque...which is what moves the car. I have done a full dual
exhaust on my Mustang from headers, h-pipe and 2 mufflers with tips (the
stock setup with bigger peices) and i'm lucky if i got 10HP from the whole
deal. If you changed the muffler only, you probably didn';t gain anything
because you still have the teeny tiny manifold and catalytic converters.

No. My aunt has a neon. 5-spd. Slowest car I have EVER driven. 100HP will
NEVER beat a 225-320HP Mustang. With that exhaust and a K&N you probably have
5 more HP than stock. If you are beating Mustangs than they are probably
4-bangers or not even trying.
