Sunrise red and pink and purple
Hurts my eyes with wondrous pain
Reveals all I wish not to see
Shows the world and even me
Mother you have made me walk
with the Sun. You tricked me,
brought me here at night. But
I can't blame you, no, because
the World walks with us in the sun.
Father showed me gentle rain
And dancing with our family's pain
But I can't blame you, no I can't,
you taught me only what you knew
then blew away like cloudy wind
So I have gone another step
Yes I can make the sun rise high
And I can bring the pain myself
My own walls hide me from my sun
and bring the clouds, and bring the rain
it washes filth off of my skin
I'm naked, clean for all to see
Leaves me no choice those sunny days
But cover myself well from them
And after sun has past, I am
left peeking out into the night
yes sad and lonely in my fright
