That is Rudy and me at the American Red Cross, as I donate platelets.
You donate platelets by being on the same machine that people get paid for plasma. The only difference is I don't get paid for my donation. The donation process takes about 1 1/2 hours. My donation goes to cancer patients on chemo. I have become friends with the two people that run the machine, Rudy and Carmen. Rudy is now working at a plasma center in California I am also on a national bone marrow donor list. If I match someone in need of a bone marrow transplant, they contact me for futher tests. To give blood in your hometown, I have a list of Florida blood banks on the webhere.
