Gohan, the son of Goku and Chi Chi, is one-half saiyan, one-half human. He is named after his grandfather Gohan. Gohan starts out a normal boy and his mother makes him do his school work every hour of everyday. She does not want Goahn to grow up to be a fighter like his father, Goku. On one strang day, a saiyan named Raditz comes to earth looking for Kakarot, or Goku. He takes Gohan hostage because Goku doesn't want to turn bad. During the fight between Raditz and Goku with Piccolo, Gohan becomes enraged when he sees his father getting the shiznit kicked out of him. He becomes so mad that he bursts into tears and blows up the saiyan space pod he was locked in. When he gets out he head-butts Raditz, cracking his armor, which no one in the universe has ever done before. Then Raditz sees that Gohan is powerful so he decides to take him as a student. But Goku tells Gohan to run away. Then he hides and Piccolo and Goku shoot Raditz, but in the process, Goku was killed too. When the battle is over, Piccolo takes Gohan to be his student. Gohan trains with Piccolo for one year. During the training Gohan increases his power incredibly and reaches a new level of moves. When the two saiyans Vegeta and Nappa arrive at earth, the Z warriors defend earth. Gohan, Piccolo, Krillen, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu try to beat Nappa alone, but his power is too strong. Chiaotzu gets killed by destroying one of the saibamen, and Yamcha gets killed too, also by one of the saibamen. Tien gets killed by Nappa but puts up a good fight. Gohan fires an attack at Nappa but only hurts him a little. At the last second when Goah nis gonna be killed, Goku shows up, and before you know it. Gohan then goes to Namek to get the Namekian dragonballs to wish back everyone who was killed, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Piccolo. While going there, Gohan and Krillen run into aliens that steal their ship, but they get it back. They also fly into a ship, and the inhabitants take them prisoner. But Gohan shows a heart of gold when he saves a boy from a falling peice of the roof. When they arrive at Namek, they find Freiza, his henchmen and Vegeta. They defeat Freiza's henchmen, but cannot destroy Freiza, so they team up with Vegeta. When Goku arrives, he tells Gohan and Krillen to leave with Bulma and Piccolo. Gohan then leaves Namek.
Later on, Gohan fuses with Trunks to become Gotenks. Gohan also fuses to become Goten. He is very small and with his anger, his true power is shown.
