The only kind of seafood I trust
is the fish stick,
a totally featureless fish
that doesn't have eyeballs or fins.

Here are a few random but possibly important facts.

I hate seafood and always have. The exceptions are Van de Kamps frozen fish fillets (the breaded ones that come with tartar sauce) and tuna in a can. Also, fish sticks are okay. And I had a big five-course seafood meal in Bretange in France with my friends Evelyn and Phillippe, which included some shrimp mousse spread on toast, and that was really good. I still think about it, and that was 21 years ago. But otherwise, I really hate seafood.

I watch mostly decorating shows and British mysteries on television.

I am in the process of losing a lot of weight. I'm afraid to talk about it too much in case I somehow jinx my good progress so far. So shh.

My best friend is my sister, Christy. She is 4.5 years younger than I am, tall (almost 6 feet), blond, and very lovely both inside and out. I adore her.

I lived in Australia from 1974-1977, which is where I learned to write in cursive and hold a knife and fork for cutting food, so I do both a bit different than most folks in the U.S. And I know a lot about sheep. :)

I am not a morning person, but my husband and daughter are. They talk in the morning. I don't even know what is going on most of the time, but I smile and drink my coffee and try to act pleasant. This morning I had to start drawing little pictures of family members before I was even out of bed because Claire attacked me with her crayons and sketchbook and told me to draw everybody in the family. I was too confused to remember that I was the mommy and could have said "no."
