Vegetables are interesting
but lack a sense of purpose
when unaccompanied by a good cut of meat.

Henry,
What are you having for lunch? I just finished a tuna fish croissant and a bag of Doritos.
Suzie

Suzie,
It looks like a vegetable pie of some kind. Cherie made it in the Thermomix.
Henry

What is a Thermomix?

It's an $800 blender.

How did you get it? This is fascinating.

In the states, they're sold like Tupperware. Someone has a demo dinner in their home so prospective buyers can see how it works and taste some recipes. There is a great deal of talk about how healthy the food is and how much money you'll save by not eating out and how you only have to clean one pan, but I wonder if they're worth the money. Cherie doesn't like it when I call it the $800 blender, BTW. So when you come by, don't walk into the kitchen and say "So, this is the $800 blender."

Oh, I won't. Our own $350 Kitchenaid was long a point of contention until I pointed out that it has a grass-mowing attachment. Some keep their expensive motors in the garage, and some keep their expensive motors in the kitchen.

Well, Cherie wants a Kitchenaid as well. But to have a Thermomix and a Kitchenaid will require more counter space, and that is not really a possibility until we remodel the kitchen, which would be best done when we add on. Then I'll have an $800 blender and a $50,000 mixer.
