SKILLS
Extensive training on mining roadheaders with varying weights from 22 to 85 tons. These machine would have to be stripped down to smaller pieces, be transported in or out of the mine and then reassembled. Many of the machines I would have to refit after heavy use and abuse underground. The mining machines have given me experience with a wide range of types of machinery as they come from all over the world.

I have modified several machine setups and worked on a wide variety of systems from all over the world. Approximately 6 to 8 months of long-wall experience (setting up flexible chain conveyors. stone-crunchers, walking jacks (1000 ton, 5000psi), jack refits, and recoveries after major roof falls.
Extensive experience with heavy lifting (1.5t to 12t chain lifts, up to 45 ton overhead cranes) and transportation of machine parts in and out of confined mine roadways.
Trained in the use of mechanical and hydraulic Torque Multipliers (1000 to 8000 ft/lbs), and other hand tools (drills, porta-power cylinders, bolt cutters, cable cutters up to 60mm, air over hydraulic pumps) needed to refit machines on site in hazardous environments. Rope splicer helper (up to 60mm).
At home we have an IBM compatible computer (P111 800 and a 486) which has helped me attain computer skills. I have experience with Microsoft applications (95 ,98 and ME), DOS, Lotus Smart Suite, Auto-Sketch (drafting), and many other utility programs. I also do repairs on my own computer ( upgraded motherboard, hard drive, installed CD ROM, sound card, and modem). I also help out friends and family with software troubles and minor repairs or upgrades.
I like to work unsupervised and am able to lead a group of workers in a job. I have filled in on many occasions as a supervisor up to six months. I have supervised or have been a charge hand on many major section setups that have lasted 1 to 3 months directing fellow workers and management on cost efficient and orderly construction.
