Mary Bisset, March 2004

Visual Arts:  We walk into a new season - spring.  Transforming like nature.

Materials Needed: An old shoe, newspaper, painted with acrylic paint. Bright colours.

Language:  Poetry or Paragraphs, Theme:  spring  - we walk into a new season, transformed yet still the same core/roots.

Gr. 7/8 History:

Change.  How has your shoe changed since it first came into your life?  Include in your writing your understanding of how change is part of life and specifically a part of your life.  If you like you can write it from the perspective of your shoe.

Gr. 6 Social Studies:

Native Storytelling.  Tell a story about your shoe.  Be imaginative.  If you like, pretend you are the shoe.

What:

Digitally record small vignettes to upload onto a website, to demonstrate to teachers how to create cross-curriculum teaching in the classroom.

Why:

As part of a final project in my Masters of Education, Cultural Technology course at York University, we have been asked to create curriculum using digital tools.  Due May 2004.

What I need:

a) Media release letter to film & take pictures of the students as they work through this process.
