Warm Up Exercise:
[ In groups, students will Think, Pair, Share the following statements:
b Shoes change, styles change and your foot has changed
b The
season is currently shifting as we a walk into a new season…spring. One might say
that we are Springing into Action!
b In
point form begin to write your outline for Springing into Action with a renewed
sense of change.
Strategies and Procedures:
1. To activate previous learning, students will begin by verbally discussing the past changes that have occurred throughout the life of their shoe.
2. Teacher will ask students to revisit their plan for writing that highlights the changes that have occurred in their lives, from the point of view of their shoe.
3. Enveloped into the discussion, is the subtext of Native Storytelling from the Aboriginal’s Oral Traditions highlighted in the Grade Six Social Studies Expectations.
