Pip's Day at Alexandria's Scottish Christmas Walk

It is I, Pip. 狢 visited the City for the first time ever, today. 狢t was quite an adventure. 狢 made a gazillion new friends, human and canine. �There are people to'n and fro'n all over the place! 猂ots of cars and trucks, too, but we stayed out of their way. �We went to something called a "parade". �We visited Alexandria, Virginia, the hometown of someone called "General Washington". 狢'm told he introduced our buddies, the Foxhound, to this continent. 痃on't know if he had any Borders with his pack. 贌e should have. 鼦lexandria was founded by Scottish merchants a long time ago. �The people are very proud of their Scottish heritage and celebrate it in many ways, calling the Christmas Walk the Scottish Christmas Walk and encouraging anything and everything Scottish.

Anyway, we walked and walked and walked. 狢 got a lot more exercise today than I get at home! �There were brick sidewalks and lots of trees and poles and steps and stoops to sniff. 猂ots of legs to dodge, too. �We joined up with a bunch of other Border Terriers and their humans in a group called the Famous Grouse Border Terrier Association. 鼦nybody with a Border Terrier that showed up was IN. �The name has a loose connection to a fine Scottish whiskey. 狢t was very noisy there. 䒷ome guys in dresses and tams were blowing into these Gawd Awful things that make a horrendous noise! 狢t never let up. 狢 got used to it after a while and got interested in sniffing everything we passed.

�Here I am posing with my Grandfather, he's one of those guys that wears a dress, too. 贌e didn't walk with us, he walked with the Clan Henderson.

� Look at this guy!! 贌e has a FOX on him!!! 狢magine what he might say if our whole pack of Border Terriers were let loose at him!!!

�Here is our group. �We all were very friendly and had a lot of fun.

�On the streets of Alexandria. 狢 understand that Alexandria's "sister city" is Dumfries, Scotland.

� It was a gorgeous day and the shops had their doors open, but Mom wouldn't let me go into any of them.

�Mom had me pose with this sign. 蟖ity people have some strange ideas.

�I was very tired by the time we drove home and took a nap all the way. 狢 hope I can do this again next year.
