Downloading copies of files to your PC isn't stealing. These mp3s are simply audio files... they're not exact duplicates of the cd tracks (quality isn't quite the same), they're not tangible objects, you don't get the sleeve, the artwork, ... you purchase your own blank cd, IF you wish to burn the files, which isn't the case half the time. What it boils down to is that people are using audio files to listen to a few tunes on their PC while they surf the Internet, whack off.. whatever... they hear tracks they might normally have not heard before on new releases from "pop sensations," realize the album sucks, delete the files, and decide not to buy the cd. The RIAA uses the "stealing" agenda as a scapegoat to sue the users of the software to gain their loss of profits back and to attempt to show everyone they're "not to be fucked with." I say to this arrogance, "Hey, corporate scumsucking leech.. do whatever bullshit publicity stunt you want, but we'll persevere, because you can't pull every single one of us in the courtroom. And, in the end, all you'll be left with is the petty cash you sucked from these poor people and a legion of music lovers that hate you more than ever."
They think that they've suffered a loss of profits? Wait. Wait until they piss off every single customer to the point of massive boycotts across the globe. They're shooting themselves in the foot. Good. Fuck 'em. Nothing they can do right now will save their corporation from a miserable extinction.
