The Mongol
The Mongolian Bow,  The handle and belly are much the same as the Magyar sport. The difference is in the ears: when unstrung, they lay forward 6.5" (60 degrees). Strung, they measure 56" with their 54" string.  Their draw weight is measured at 30". They do not start to stack until past 31", and an inch or two of overdraw is well within the bow's normal limits.  Available weights 27#-76# - Retail $420
The LARP Bow
Scythian
This is a very short bow: 46" strung.  This is a very good children's bow at 15# draw at 20 inches. It is a simple recurve bow , not a static recurve like the rest of the Horsebows . This light bow works well for a combat game that several medieval history clubs play with very specialized blunts. The Scythian is solid fiberglass wrapped in suede leather, with a wood handle and end nocks. It does not have syhas. The finish is the same suede and wood as the Avars and Mongol. The leather cover is the same as the ancients'. They used it to protect the sinew and glue from getting wet. We use it to cover the fiberglass from the UV of the sun and to duplicate the old look. -     Retail $175
The Hun,  My Bow
Hun
The Hun is asymmetrical, the upper belly being 4" longer than the lower.  The sihas are solid ashwood, carved with a central spine to hold the string in place when at rest.  It is 55" tall unstrung, and 61" tall when strung with its 58" string. It does not stack until 38" of draw. The weight is measured at 30". If you wish to have the Huns performance in a draw weight over 44# you want the Tall Magyar. Draw weights available are 25# to 44# -
