After the Droopler incedent both Mavrick Hunters and the Replioforce helped to clean up the disruction. A mysterious figure then went to the General of the Replioforce's house and tells him that the Mavrick Hunters spread a rumor to the humans that the Replioforce is a bunch of mavricks!!! Because of this the Replioforce attacks the city. Now X and Zero must restore the peace and find out who the mysterious person is.
X- The leader of the 17th unit, Mavrick Hunters. His creation is a mystery: nobody knows why he was built then barried.
X is famous for defeating Sigma. X is only rank B because he does not belive in violence.
ZERO- Zero is MegaMan X's best friend and past partner. His creation is a mystery as well, shrouded in much speculation. Once destroyed to protest X, Zero has been revived to continue the aid he had offered X previously.
Originally part of the 17th Unit, Maverick Hunters, Zero was appointed to his own Special #O Class Unit. With the failure of Repliforce, Zero's track record and calm demeanor are a necessary match for the canny experience of MegaMan X.
COLONEL- Youngest high-ranking officer in the new Maverick regime. Prominent and strict with the Mavericks, Colonel treats his troops and sister the same way - with respect.
IRIS- Colonel's younger sister, she is distraught by the outbreak of Mavericks and the sudden riot of Reploid Force. Helples during the riot, she is rescued by Zero and is now devoted to stopping the battle between her brother and Zero.
GENERAL- Highest commander of the new Maverick regime. Widely recognized by Cain Labs and the Maverick Hunters for triggering the new Maverick outbreak.
DOUBLE- Dr. Cain's latest creation supports MegaMan X and Zero in many ways. Yet this prototype requires treatment and must be refined. While his prime directive is to assist the Maverick Hunters, it seems Double's top priority is to be careless and zealous

in storm owl's level use the l.web on the left wall of spikes in area 2, and quickly dash-catwalk to find the capsuils.
in magma dragoon's level just above the available ride armor dash-jump/use l.web to get to a high platform and use t.slasher on the huge bolders to get the capsuil.

Megaman X's Ultimate armor: Highlight Megaman X at the player selection screen. Press Circle(2), Left(6), then hold L1 + R2 and press Start. Note: Hold L1 + R2 until game play begins. For the Japanese version, press X(2), Left(6), then hold L1 + R2 and press Start. Enter a special armor capsule to receive the new armor.
Zero's black armor: Highlight Zero at the player selection screen. Hold R1 and press Right(6). Release all buttons, then hold Circle and press Start. For the Japanese version, hold R1 and press Right(6). Release all buttons, then hold X and press Start.
