MLV Butterfly Industry History

The foundation for the company was laid when we joined the non-government organization in 2002.

As members of the core  group we attended seminars about butterfly farming technology sponsored

by the researchers of the State College of Marinduque.  Corollary,  we joined seminars and

workshops to develop products or commodities using dried butterflies sponsored by the Department

                                             of Science and Technology.

Later on, we  organized  small  breeders in one  municipality to whom   we  transferred

the knowledge about butterflies farming. Our primary task was  to help  these breeders

captivated  markets for their harvests both butterfly pupae and dead stocks.  In addition,

to help the government to pursue their Environmental Conservation Program.

Since we gained already the experience and knowledge of technical know how on the

cultivations of butterflies these resulted us to put up our own breeding farm.   And the

increased demand for Philippine tropical butterflies had  encouraged us to enter in butterfly industry.

In the beginning of  2005,  MLV  Butterfly Industry is already a duly registered in the

Department of Environment and Natural Resources in its agency PROTECTED AREAS
