| TRADITIONAL MUSIC INSTRUMENT Minahasan people are fond of music. The popular traditional music is: Bambu and Kolintang. Bambu Orchestras utilize the instrument made of bamboo (bambu melulu), sometimes fabricated from bronze (bambu clarinet) or of tin (Bambu seng). Kolintang originated in the Minahasan region. It is similar to a wooden xylophone and is popular nationwide. Musik Bia, a conch shell, is another instrument which is less popular but is still employed in some areas of North Sulawesi. |
